John Tonero 

is best known as a high school principle, educator, and for his involvement in the Track Coaches Association.

A New Jersey native with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Seton Hall University, and master of education degree in administration and supervision from New Jersey City University, John also holds certifications in Business Education, Mathematics, and Administration. John is an experience educator who has taught Mathematics in Newark Public Schools, and served as principal at several New Jersey Catholic High Schools. John is currently the principle of the St. Rose High School in Belmar NJ where he is enhancing the school’s already great reputation with the implementation of an engineering and STEM-based curriculum.

John has many years of involvement with youth sports. He has coached Track and Field, and Cross Country. He is currently the treasurer of the Essex County Track Coaches Association and the indoor and outdoor meet director for the Super Essex Conference and the Essex County Track and Field Championships. He also serves as the meet director for the NJSIAA Outdoor State Sectional Track and Field Championships at Ridge High School and is a member of the NJSIAA Outdoor Track Committee.

Combining his enjoyment for living at the Jersey Shore with his professional skills and coaching abilities, John is looking forward to helping the F.O.B.H organization. He hopes to increase the organization’s effectiveness and educate youth about the natural wonders of our local marine environment through hands on science based activities and with sports such as sailing and kayaking.
